The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two additional awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). She also appeared as the child character in Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. She also played Yasim Awar on BBC's five-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca appeared as Yasim Anwar in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, and in on the Romanian comedy Boogie. In the movie Fury (2014) her character appeared as Irma the German woman, who is Emma's aunt.
